Our kitchen desk has been the catch-all for everyone's junk,
we all have a spot like that, right?! Mail, flyers, hair ties, odd pieces of Playmobil. It's one of those places you have to "pick up" daily.
Meanwhile, my upstairs desk stays overwhelmed with papers to file, grocery lists, bills, receipts , coupons ... making me a crazy woman since I'm a little OCD in the neatness department.
This week I had a lightbulb moment ... why not move all the kitchen-related items to the kitchen desk and forever banish anything else being left there.
Since I spend a good part of my life in the kitchen, it's so convenient to fill out grocery lists there, instead of upstairs wondering what we already have, what we might need.
Coupons, right there with the list.
Menu plan and accompanying shopping list,
all together in one place.
Amazing organization. I wish I'd thought of this years ago, but better late than never, right?

ReplyDeleteI have a little table and chair in what I call 'my computer corner'.Usually my computer is only there for recharging as it's a little portable and goes with me everywhere.
This is my catch-all place! I'm always tidying it..... BUT... my rule is ....I'm the only one allowed to put anything here, so it's a controllable clutter spot.

I have a spot on my kitchen counter that drives me nuts! It is a catch-all for mail and coupons etc. I clean it up and SWEAR that I am not gonna let it get cluttery again:) Thank for inspiring me to do something about it! Have a blessed day, hugs!

Lol! I've had both of our desks on my mind for months! they are disasters! on is a pull down top, so you cant see whats in it.. but if you open it up.. LOOK OUT! and other has drawers stuffed full of papers.... One of these days...

I so wish I had space for a desk in my kitchen, but it's too tiny! So the end of my countertop accumulates "junk." Have to clear it every few days!
ReplyDeleteWe adore Playmobil, but isn't it annoying how the tiny pieces end up in random places? I once found Mary, from our nativity set, in July under a bookshelf...
